Large Item Pickup Program

Get your large items, including furniture, stoves and mattresses, picked up.

It's easy to dispose of your large items like mattresses, furniture and appliances for free. Book now through our Large Item Pickup program.

Eligibility & limits

  • Households that receive City of Surrey waste collection can have up to six large items picked up per year.
  • Households with registered secondary suites can book up to eight items per year.
  • Each year, your item count resets to zero. This means you can't carry forward the unused quota from previous years.

Apartments

  • If you live in an apartment building with City recycling, you can have four items picked up per year.

  • Pickups at apartment buildings must be scheduled by the property manager or strata. Contact your property manager or strata for more information.

  • If your building is not registered, ask your property manager to email the City at rethinkwaste@surrey.ca for more details.

Schedule a large item pickup

Items placed at curbside without a scheduled pickup may be considered illegally dumped and are subject to fines.

  1. Check the accepted items list below to make sure your items qualify. 
  2. Request your pickup online. Provide details or photos of your item(s).
  3. You will get an email confirming the pickup date. Check your junk/spam folder so you do not miss any updates about your request. 
  4. Place all items outside before 7:30am on the day of your appointment.
