Fire services
The Surrey Fire Service (SFS) is the first on scene at residential and commercial structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents and technical rescue calls.
The SFS also handles Emergency Preparedness for the City, as well as the HomeSafe program, which provides free smoke alarms to the community.

Surrey Police Service
Surrey Police Service (SPS) is the municipal police agency for the City of Surrey. Serving one of Canada’s fastest growing and most diverse cities, SPS has a policing model founded in respectful community collaboration and engagement.
The SPS Headquarters is located in Newton, and the five Community Police Offices are in Whalley/City Centre, Guildford/Fleetwood, Newton, Cloverdale, and South Surrey.

South Fraser Search and Rescue
South Fraser Search and Rescue (SFSAR) is a dedicated, 100% volunteer organization that provides search and rescue services in Surrey and surrounding areas. Celebrating over 50 years of service, SFSAR specializes in ground, rope, mountain, swiftwater, and inland water rescues, as well as evidence searches and evacuation assistance. The team supports the Surrey Emergency Program by offering personal preparedness education, participating in community events, and providing mutual aid to other search and rescue organizations across British Columbia. Their commitment ensures that Surrey is better prepared for emergencies and can respond effectively when needed.
Surrey Emergency Program Amateur Radio
The Surrey Emergency Program Amateur Radio (SEPAR) is a community service organization that includes licensed amateur radio operators and other communications volunteers. SEPAR plays a crucial role in emergency preparedness and response by providing reliable communication support when conventional systems fail. They conduct regular training, participate in emergency drills, and maintain readiness to assist during disasters. By ensuring continuous communication capabilities, SEPAR enhances the overall effectiveness of the Surrey Emergency Program, contributing to a safer and more resilient community.
