City Hall operating hours are weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. For after-hour media requests, email media.requests@surrey.ca. Media requests of an urgent and operational nature will be responded to after hours. All other requests will be actioned the next business day.

Surrey residents will soon have more time to come into City Hall.

After a flurry of adoptions at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Surrey’s animal shelter has seen a steady drop in adoptions, leading to months-long stays for some dogs compared to the previous 11-day average.

The City of Surrey, in partnership with Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, planted 250 native trees and shrubs at Maple Green Park to recognize World Sikh Environment Day on Monday, March 14.

The City of Surrey’s Electric Vehicle Charging Network has grown exponentially since its first half dozen ports were installed in 2013, with the network set to hit nearly 100 by the end of this year. 

The City of Surrey is being recognized for having exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers in 2022. This is the fourth year in a row the City has received this prestigious award.

At Monday’s Regular Council Meeting, Surrey Council approved the purchase of a 9.3-acre lot located on 24 Avenue for the purposes of parkland as part of the Redwood Heights Neighbourhood Concept Plan.

With Surrey growing at an unprecedented rate, City Council has prioritized new capital infrastructure projects that will ensure the recreational, cultural and road travel needs of its citizens will keep pace with the City’s growth.

City uses certified arborists to prune trees on a regular schedule.

Program offers residents affordable trees to plant on private property.

Construction for the project is slated to begin early next month with substantial completion expected August 2022.
