The Federation of Canadian Artists’ Fraser Valley Chapter returns to the Gallery for a newly juried showcase of paintings on a variety of themes.
As a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Fraser Valley Chapter promotes the pursuit of excellence in art. For this exhibition, the Chapter invited members to produce paintings that explore the idea of “fresh” through new techniques, new subject matter, new and creative points of view, the use of new and exciting colours, or subject matter that hints at new growth and renewal.
Each artist has interpreted the idea in their own way, and Surrey Art Gallery and the Fraser Valley Chapter are pleased to present the results as "Fresh Paint!"
Celebrate this exhibit at our opening reception on September 17.
About the Federation of Canadian Artists
The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) was founded in 1941 to advance the knowledge and appreciation of art and culture for all Canadians, offering education, exhibition, and communication in the visual arts, and to support and promote emerging to professional member artists. The Fraser Valley Chapter is an independent group operating under the guidelines and standards set by the Federation. It was founded in 1992 to unite several small groups of artists who would benefit from operating under one umbrella. Since its inception, the Fraser Valley Chapter has exhibited in various locations in the Fraser Valley. In addition, individual members exhibit at the Federation Gallery in Vancouver. The Chapter now has over ninety members from Chilliwack to Surrey/White Rock and from Mission to Coquitlam.
