Description: The Green Timbers Inaugural Forest Plantation is located in Green Timbers, a natural area in the northern part of the City. It consists of a grove of trees planted from seedlings in the first attempt at reforestation in the history of British Columbia. The inaugural ceremony took place on March 15, 1930. This site exemplifies the early logging and reforestation heritage of the community, and the commitment to protecting and enhancing the natural environment in Surrey - the City of Parks.
