Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market Extends to Two Days in 2023
Applications are now open for vendors, non-profits, exhibitors, sponsors, and performers.
Surrey, B.C. – The 13th annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market presented by Concord Pacific has been extended to two days in 2023. The festival will be held at Surrey Civic Plaza on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Applications are now open for holiday market vendors, non-profits, exhibitors, sponsors, and performers to participate in the festival.
“On behalf of Council, I am pleased to announce the expansion of the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival into a two-day event,” says Mayor Brenda Locke, “We are proud to produce events that are so well received by the community and are excited to help create holiday memories for event attendees and residents of Surrey.”
The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market has extended in response to strong interest, support, and feedback from the community. This year, the festival will provide two days of free entertainment, children's activities, food trucks, rides, and photos with Santa. In 2022, the event drew a crowd of over 20,000 attendees and anticipates a larger turnout in 2023. The tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, and the festival will extend into Sunday, November 26 with the illuminated tree remaining on display throughout the weekend and into January 2024.
Organizers welcome participation from small businesses, community organizations, musicians, dancers, and corporations for the upcoming festival. Local artisans can apply to display and sell their products in the Holiday Market, a 200-ft tent on Surrey Civic Plaza. To apply, and for more information visit www.surreytreelighting.ca/get-involved.
