Magic Days Coming to Museum of Surrey
Catch a live performance on select Saturdays.
Surrey, BC – Lon Mandrake, magician, and son of the late famous Mandrake the Magician, will perform a little abracadabra at Museum of Surrey on April 10, 17 and 24, 2021. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the second-generation illusionist from a safe social distance, and experience some tricks of the trade. There is also a magic-themed scavenger hunt and a take-home magic-inspired craft kit.
“It has been an unusual year, so we are thrilled to introduce local families to the exciting world of magic in a safe way,” said Lynn Saffery, Museum of Surrey Manager. “We are continuing to limit capacity and offer multiple ‘performances’ on each Saturday to accommodate small family bubbles.”
The Real Mandrake the Magician exhibit opened February 17, featuring memorabilia about Leon Mandrake’s notable career. The world-renowned magician, mentalist, illusionist, escapologist, ventriloquist, and stunt performer with Surrey roots is being celebrated in the museum’s latest Community Treasures exhibit.
Free pre-registered, one-hour self-guided visits of the museum are available from Wednesday to Saturday.
