“We are thrilled to welcome the Surrey Eagles to Surrey Canada Day to celebrate their recent Fred Page Cup win with our community,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “Their enthusiasm and energy will make the largest Canada Day event in Western Canada all the more special for attendees. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to meet Surrey’s champions and be a part of Surrey's Canada Day festivities.”
Over the past three decades, the Eagles have won five league championships, two Doyle Cup Championships, a Western Canada Cup Championship, and the most coveted prize in Junior A hockey, the National Junior A Championship. The Eagles not only rank among North America's top junior hockey programs but also contribute positively to Surrey’s community through volunteering, fundraising and school visits.
“The Surrey Eagles are proud to be apart of the Surrey Canada Day festivities,” said Surrey Eagles Director of Operations Saje Brar. “We are excited to bring the Fred Page Cup back to Surrey for all of the community to see and share the team’s success.”
Surrey Canada Day 2024 attendees will have the opportunity to play road hockey and take photos with Surrey Eagles players in the Community Hub from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Also featured in the Community Hub, presented by Chalo! FreshCo, are dance battles and lessons, local DJ performances, a variety of food trucks and refreshments, and new this year, free pony rides for children.
