REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS

DESCRIPTION OF SCOPE OF WORK

The Work covered under this project consists of the furnishing of all superintendence, overhead, labour, materials, tools, equipment, insurance, fuel, transportation and all things necessary for and incidental to the satisfactory performance and completion of construction and renovation of Bridgeview Daycare Play Space, located at Bridgeview Community Centre, 11475 126A Street, Surrey, British Columbia (the “Place of Work”) in strict accordance with the Specifications and accompanying Drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

Bridgeview Community Centre has a pre-existing playground directly adjacent to the building that was utilized for programmed daycare. The City intends to decommission and construct a new play area to be used by a daycare provider and the general public after programmed hours. The daycare will be operated by Métis Family services. Over the course of history four separate Indigenous nations have settled on these traditional lands. The playground should have an indigenous feel but not focus on any particular nation.

The objective of this play space is to provide for two different age groups 0-2 and 2-5 year olds. Each group should be partitioned from each other in a manner other than traditional fencing. The entire play area will be fenced and gated (by others) with a perimeter rubberized 1.2 metre wide pathway. The play elements should invoke a natural feel with an emphasis on natural materials. The playground should include a fixed play structure, gathering area, mud kitchen, motion elements and promote creative play.
