Fallen Trees Due to Extreme Weather or Natural Causes

Contact the City

1. Take photos of the fallen tree including any damage that occurred.
2. Fill out a tree cutting permit application.
3. Email the application and photos to treebylaw@surrey.ca.

Fallen trees that need immediate removal

Option 1

• Call a tree care professional to assess your tree.
• Fill out a tree cutting permit application.
• Email the application, photos and professional's assessment to treebylaw@surrey.ca. 
• Cut down the tree/make the property safe.
• City Staff will review the assessment and follow up with the property owner as required.

Option 2

• Take photos of the tree.
• Call or email the city with your address and information about the tree you removed to treebylaw@surrey.ca.
• Cut down the tree/make the property safe.
• Leave the tree on the property for the City Arborist to inspect.
• Remove the tree from your property after the City inspects it.
