Picnic area with forest in the background

Discover the best places to plan a picnic in a Surrey park.

Throughout Surrey there are picnic tables and picnic shelters (covered picnic tables). Both types of tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis

Help keep Surrey’s parks clean and beautiful

When planning your picnic or BBQ, choose sustainable, reusable and recyclable supplies. After your picnic or BBQ, take any extra garbage home with you.

We recommend bringing your own water and power source as needed when you use a park shelter.

Barbeques

Natural gas, propane, and charcoal briquettes are permitted if they are being used in ULC/CSA-approved devices for the particular product.

Permitted areas to barbeque

Within City parks, you can only barbeque at picnic table sites.

Natural gas & propane barbeques

You can barbeque with natural gas and propane at any picnic table site.

Charcoal briquette barbeques
  • Charcoal briquettes are only permitted at picnic table sites that have City-sanctioned coal disposal containers.
  • When the fire danger rating is High or Extreme, no charcoal briquette barbeques are permitted in parks.
