South Surrey Athletic Park

South Surrey Athletic Park is a large athletic park with fun options for kids, youth and families. This park offers facilities for soccer, football, rugby, baseball, tennis, pickleball and volleyball. The park also features a variety of pathways and walking loops, a BMX bike park, a playground and a waterpark.

The entire complex is located next to the Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest.

You'll also find venues for indoor sports at the nearby South Surrey Recreation Centre and South Surrey Arena.

South Surrey Bike Park

As the first official bike park in Surrey, the South Surrey Bike Park offers an excellent trail network for beginners all the way to advanced riders.

With dirt jumps and a pump track area, the popular outdoor recreation facility has held BC Cup cross-country races and cyclo-cross events featuring Olympians Geoff Kabush, Catharine Pendrel and Emily Batty.

BMO Coastal Soccer Centre

Partnering with the City, the Coastal Football Club developed a covered practice facility at South Surrey Athletic Park.

The BMO Coastal Soccer Centre has an artificial turf surface with a perimeter walking path. Coastal FC operates the facility, which is located directly east of Softball City.

Covered multi-sport box

A new covered multi-sport box is being developed to support activities like box lacrosse, ball hockey, and other sports.

Skate park improvements

The skate park is under construction to improve the surface, repair, and add new ramps. Estimated completion is summer 2025.

Spray park & playground expansion

A water spray park and expanded playground are located next to the Rotary fieldhouse.

Other work included:

• Revitalizing the central amenity area
• Adding a new picnic area and trees
• Improving traffic flow and parking
• Realigning Rotary Way
• Upgrading lighting

Rugby fieldhouse and pickleball courts

There is a new rugby fieldhouse and outdoor pickleball courts at Sunnyside Reservoir 1, located north of the bike park.

Running track and field events facilities

The running track and field events facilities have been upgraded. Additionally, Grass Field #8 has been converted to artificial turf, enhancing usability and durability.
