Park information
Latimer Park is an old gravel quarry, located at the southeast corner of 192 Street and 28 Avenue. The quarry has since flooded and formed Latimer Lake, in the centre of the park. The park is predominantly undeveloped, although you will find a number of pathways, including a loop that goes around the lake. Access to the park can be found on 28 Avenue, about 130 metres east of 192 Street. A dog off-leash area is located in the park which includes water access to Latimer Lake.
Park Master Plan Update
The master plan for Latimer Park was updated in 2019 to address the significant changes that have come to Campbell Heights since the original master plan was created in 2006. The master plan update’s purpose was to ensure that two upcoming infrastructure projects will integrate and benefit the park and its visitors:
- A drainage project that will introduce storm water from the north into the lake. This will include a new wetland area that will provide habitat enhancement and water quality improvements.
- Completion of 28 Avenue that will allow the City to improve safety, accessibility and parking.
