Because of weather, the August 21 outdoor movie night and Focus Newton engagement pop-up event at Unwin Park is rescheduled to Wednesday, August 28. 

Join us on August 28 for Honsla Rakh at 8:50 pm at Unwin Park. We’ll also have performances and an engagement pop-up to share updates on the Focus Newton Action Plan.

Surrey, BC – Get ready for a summer filled with fun and entertainment with free Outdoor Movie Nights. As part of the Focus Newton project, these events aim to increase family-friendly activities and make public spaces more lively and engaging. Join us for an unforgettable experience of watching your favorite movies under the stars in various parks throughout Newton.

Grab your blanket or lawn chair, bring your family and friends, and enjoy a movie in the park. The screenings are free for all attendees, and we’ll also provide free popcorn, while quantities last.

Upcoming events

  • August 7: Shrek, Newton Athletic Park at 9:15 p.m.
  • August 14: The Lego Movie 2, TE Scott Park at 9:00 p.m.
  • August 28 (postponed from August 21 due to weather): Honsla Rakh, Unwin Park at 8:50 p.m.

General Information

All movies begin approximately at sundown and are weather dependent. We recommend attendees arrive early to secure a good spot. For more information, visit the event page.

The final movie night on August 21 will kick off with the Sounds of Summer concert featuring Mikey Jose and Ayla Tesler-Mabé at 6:30 p.m. The event will also include an engagement pop-up to share updates on the Focus Newton Action Plan.
