Surrey, BC – The Museum of Surrey is excited to announce its re-opening after the seasonal break, welcoming visitors of all ages back on Jan. 18, 2025. Located at 17710 56A Ave., the Museum of Surrey serves as a vibrant cultural hub that celebrates the rich history and forward-thinking of City of Surrey. With a diverse range of exhibits, special events, and engaging programs, the museum offers a dynamic space where visitors can explore and engage with Surrey’s innovative past, present, and future.
“We are excited to bring the residents and visitors of Surrey a wide array of programs and exhibitions in 2025. This is your museum and with refreshed spaces, cultural programming with local partners, we strive to be a welcoming and accessible space for everyone”, said Museum Manager Lynn Saffery.
The Museum of Surrey is also home Heritage Square, where the Anderson Cabin, 1881 Town Hall and Anniedale School are situated. The (then named) Surrey Museum first opened in 1938 inside the old 1881 Town Hall, when it was relocated to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.
The Museum has refreshed the TD Explore Zone for kids, an interactive exhibit for children developed around the theme of sustainability in Surrey, with a brand-new slide for kids to enjoy.
Admission to the Museum of Surrey is sponsored by the Friends of the Surrey Museum and Archives Society. Hours are: Tues to Sat, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30p.m., Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. and closed Mondays. For more information, visit surrey.ca/museum.
