Surrey, BC – Surrey’s municipal museum, Museum of Surrey, received accolades Wednesday night at The Clovie’s, Cloverdale’s Business Excellence Awards. The Clovie for Not-For-Profit Business of the Year was gratefully accepted by Museum Manager, Lynn Saffery.

Museum of Surrey values community and connection, welcoming every citizen of Surrey to the Museum and Cloverdale. “We strive to be accessible in every sense,” explains Councillor Guerra, Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee. “This award highlights the impact the Museum has had in the Cloverdale Town Centre. We are honoured to be a part of this vibrant and family-friendly community.”

Accessibility, engagement, and connection are important values at Museum of Surrey, and this includes ensuring that all visitors can enjoy the stories, experiences, and aspirations of Surrey’s diverse communities for free. This is possible, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Surrey Museum and Archives Society.

With the many challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, Councillor Guerra notes that free admission, and safety, is more important now than ever before.

Having just re-opened earlier this month, the Museum is offering safe, pre-registered self-guided tours Wednesday through Saturday.  With safety their top priority, the Museum is following citywide COVID safety guidelines.

Register for free tours online or by phone at 604-592-6956.
