Surrey, B.C. – Museum of Surrey is celebrating the auspicious Year of the Dragon by hosting a Lunar New Year celebration, on February 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The free community event will feature performances and activities including a Dragon Dance by Chinese Village Club, martial art demonstrations, face painting, storytelling, lantern making, calligraphy and more.
“The community is our cozy home, and festivals are the sunshine within it. Neighbours, like family, celebrate together, strengthening bonds and adding vibrancy to our shared space. The community is a warm extended family, illuminated by the festive sunshine” said Ying Liu of the Chinese Village Club, a non-for-profit Chinese Community in Canada.
Hosted by Chinese Village Club, this year’s event will feature a variety of dances, including children’s dance performances by Newbridge Academy, Tibetan dance, and adult modern dance.
The Museum of Surrey invites residents and visitors to experience this free event and be part of this cultural celebration and tradition.
