Surrey, B.C. – Museum of Surrey is excited to announce its 2024 Fall exhibits, Meditate opening on August 27, 2024 and WAKISKAHTAN, on display in the Indigenous Hall until September 29, 2024. These exhibits promise to offer timely and educational experiences for visitors of all ages.

Feature Gallery: Meditate Exhibit

Meditate is an immersive, all-ages exhibition that invites visitors to explore diverse meditation techniques practiced around the world. This interactive exhibit encourages guests to use all their senses to experience different styles of meditation, including visualization, movement, scent, and sound.

Meditate aims to connect people of different beliefs through the shared practices of meditation and mindfulness. Visitors will learn about various tools used in meditation and discover local practices available in Surrey.

Indigenous Hall: WANISKAHTAN Exhibit

Also featured this Fall, the Indigenous Hall will host WANISKAHTAN, presented by The Legacy of Hope Foundation. This powerful exhibition seeks to educate and raise awareness about the high rates of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. The exhibit aims to commemorate these individuals and prevent future occurrences of violence through education and greater public awareness.

Both exhibits underscore the Museum of Surrey’s commitment to fostering understanding, inclusivity, and community engagement through diverse and impactful exhibitions.

“At Museum of Surrey we seek to engage Surrey’s communities and visitors through experiences that are relevant, accessible and creative. This Fall, we are excited to offer these two exhibits that focus on building resilience and well-being in our communities,” said Lynn Saffery, Museum Manager.
