
Métis: Children of the Fur Trade returns to Museum of Surrey on Saturday, April 12
In partnership with the Surrey Delta Métis Association, this annual event invites visitors to enjoy stories and performances about the rich and diverse Métis heritage.
Surrey, BC – Métis: Children of the Fur Trade event returns to Museum of Surrey on Saturday April 12, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. In partnership with the Surrey Delta Métis Association, this annual event invites visitors to enjoy stories and performances about the rich and diverse Métis heritage.
“There is a vibrant Métis population living in the City of Surrey,” said Lynn Saffery, Museum Manager. “Museum staff and volunteers love hosting this annual event, where visitors can learn about the rich heritage of the Métis people in interesting and interactive ways.”
“This event is a testament to the enduring pride and contributions of the Métis people, whose stories and heritage are an integral part of our shared journey." Said Anthony Krilow, Vice President of Surrey Delta Métis Association.
All visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of Métis activities. Watch performances from V'ni Dansi, listen to live music, create crafts and tour market vendors and food offering a selection of goods that reflect Métis craftsmanship and heritage. Participating vendors are Kimoowun Beads, Spirit Glow, Tradish, Sandra’s Métis Creations, Nicimos Delsigns, and more.
