A free family friendly celebration of Filipino culture is coming to Museum of Surrey on Saturday, September 21st from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Surrey, B.C. – A free family friendly celebration of Filipino culture is coming to Museum of Surrey on Saturday, September 21st from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Filipino Fest is an annual event that offers a day filled with Filipino dancing and music, special performances and tasty Filipino cuisine. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy free live entertainment, market vendors, family friendly activities, crafts, and more.

“Each year the Filipino community in Surrey puts partners with Museum of Surrey in an incredible celebration of their diverse cultures,” said Museum of Surrey Manager Lynn Saffery. “It is such an honour to showcase and celebrate this rich culture and heritage.”

This year’s event will feature a variety of performers including Glisha, The Kuyas, Himig Kabataan, and Ash Angel. In addition to the performances, attendees can look forward to a special Storytime in both English and Tagalog presented by Surrey Libraries, live poetry reading, hands-on collage art instruction, photo opportunities and Filipino food for sale.

While attending Filipino Fest visitors are encouraged to explore the feature exhibit  Meditate an immersive, all-ages exhibition that invites visitors to explore the diverse meditation techniques practiced around the world.
