
City of Surrey celebrates Family Day with free and fun activities
The City of Surrey is offering a variety of free and low-cost activities over the Family Day long weekend, from February 15 to February 17.
Surrey, B.C. – The City of Surrey is offering a variety of free and low-cost activities over the Family Day long weekend, from February 15 to February 17. Family Day programming will be available at recreation facilities, arenas, Darts Hill Garden Park, the Museum of Surrey, and Historic Stewart Farm.
“The City of Surrey is proud to offer an exciting array of activities for Family Day weekend,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “Our accessible and affordable Family Day offerings have something for everyone to enjoy. Whether it’s lacing up your skates or participating in a scavenger hunt, there is no shortage of fun to be had. I invite you and your family to come spend some quality time together and make memories at the wonderful events put on by our dedicated City staff and volunteers.”
Family Day activities include:
- Free games, arts and crafts and sports at recreation facilities
- Free arts, recreation and libraries activities at Clayton Community Centre including a presentation of Frog Belly Rat Bone by Axis Theatre—a popular picture book by Timothy Basil Ering, hosted by Surrey SPARK Stages
- Themed skates hosted at select Surrey arenas — drop in admission applies and skate and helmet rentals are available
- Free outdoor activities including story time, live music, and a scavenger hunt at Darts Hill Garden Park
- Board games, a scavenger hunt, and photos with mascot Raj the Raccoon at Museum of Surrey
- Farmhouse tours and heritage demonstrations at Historic Stewart Farm
