The City of Surrey is situated on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the sǝmyámǝ (Semiahmoo), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), and q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen) land-based Nations who have been stewards of this land since time immemorial.
Join us on June 21 for the National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration & Wellness Event, live at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale:
Event schedule:
- 2:00 p.m. - Roots of Skate Sharing
- 2:30 p.m. - First Nations Welcome
- 3:00-6:30 p.m. - Cultural Sharing
- 4:00-6:00 p.m. - Community Kitchen
- 6:30-7:00 p.m. - Closing Ceremony
Hosted by sǝmyámǝ (Semiahmoo), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), and q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen) first nations, this event is an opportunity to acknowledge and show respect and admiration for Indigenous Peoples past, present and future; to share cultural history; and to share spirit, experiences, stories, song, art and dance with each other and the community.
The celebration will feature cultural sharing with teachings and practice through art, music, storytelling and dance by the local First Nations, including XiQuelem, (Eugene Harry), Jade Turner, Wild River Singers, Art Napoleon, and many more.

Free shuttle service
TransLink is providing a free event shuttle from King George SkyTrain station beginning at 1 p.m. directly to the Bill Reid Amphitheatre in Cloverdale. The last returning bus to King George SkyTrain departs at 7:45pm. Please note there are no stops in between.
