About the artists
Tess Anderson
Throw away all the expectations and just make music that feels good.
That’s the sentiment Vancouver-based Tess Anderson has chosen to live by recently, and it’s become evident in her upcoming body of work. Allowing vulnerability and authenticity to be at the forefront of everything she does, Tess captivates audiences with her moxie-filled performances. Trying on many different genre hats over the years, nothing has felt quite right - until now. Having spent the last year in the studio refining her sound, 2023 marked the start of a brand new era for Tess Anderson. Combining the familiar gloss of pop with the heavy grit of alternative rock, she has finally stepped into her power fronting an impressively versatile 5-piece band. Tess' recent singles "Self Control", "Run", and "Gaslight" set the stage for her highly anticipated debut full-length album "Before I Come Unhinged", which was released May 17th, 2024. Performing over 75 live shows annually, including having opened for Mother Mother at a sold-out Commodore Ballroom show, Tess continues to build a name for herself in the Vancouver music scene.
Ranj Singh
Ranj Singh is an award-winning international touring and recording artist. Ranj started his career in the 80's performing with many Folk Punjabi and Hindi artists in the Vancouver area.
In the 90’s Ranj helped form the “Bhangra Rock” group Dal Dil Vog (a.k.a. DDV). The group went on to win numerous awards and shared the stage with artists such as Jan Arden, 54-40, Colin James, Mathew Good, and more. DDV's unique style of bhangra / rock music led to tours throughout North America and India, live performances on Much Music, 3 music videos on Much Music, and one on MTV Asia. Other notable venues Ranj has performed at include Roy Thomson Hall, Vancouver Folk Fest, Seattle Folk Fest, Oregon County Fair, Hard Rock Café Toronto, and many more.
Lately Ranj has been working hard performing over 200 shows a year as a solo artist, and has opened for Honeymoon Suite and shared the stage with many award-winning artists, such as Ra McGuire of Trooper. With a unique voice accompanied by his 2 alternate-tuned 12-string guitars, Ranj's genre of Indo-Folk music is melodic and soothing. It is a combination of subtle Indian melodies with classic pop / rock covers and originals. With 3 albums under his belt, Ranj is at the top of his game. In February of 2023 Ranj performed a ticketed solo show at Surrey Civic Theatres to a sold out crowd of over 200 people.
Maddy Lofvendahl
Maddy Lofvendahl is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Vancouver, BC. Her music can be best described as a blend of Soul/Pop and R&B with elements of Jazz and Rock. Growing up surrounded by music she began writing songs from a young age. Drawing inspiration from an extensive array of artists, her music reflects a fresh take on growing up in modern times while blending sounds of the artists from decades before her. She has allowed herself to lean into vulnerability to display authenticity in both her writing and live performances. Maddy continues to build a name for herself in the Vancouver music scene, as both an original artist and as a session musician. After spending the past two years in and out of the studio writing and recording her debut EP she looks forward to sharing new music and continuing to develop her sound.
