REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS

SCOPE OF WORK

The Work covered under this project consists of the furnishing of all superintendence, overhead, labour, materials, tools, equipment, insurance, fuel, transportation and all things necessary for and incidental to the satisfactory performance and completion of  the RCMP Main Headquarters Cooling Tower Replacement, located at 14355 57th Ave., Surrey, British Columbia (the “Place of Work”) in strict accordance with the Specifications and accompanying Drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

The general components of the Work include:

  • Supply and install of new Cooling Tower and all associated piping
  • Delivery and Craning of new and old units
  • Removal and disposal of existing Cooling Tower
  • All new plumbing drainage piping and tie ins
  • Roof flashing and required work as necessary
  • All other requirements in drawings and Specifications

The detailed scope of Work is as described in the Special Provisions (Schedule B – Appendix 1), Supplementary Specifications (Project) (Schedule B- Appendix 2), and Contract Drawings (listed below) (Schedule B – Appendix 2A).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION MEETING:

A second information meeting will be hosted by the City Representative to discuss the City’s requirements under this RFQ (the “Information Meeting”). While attendance is at the discretion of Contractors, Contractors who do not attend will be deemed to have attended the Information Meeting and to have received all of the information given at the Information Meeting.
At the time of issuance of this RFQ a meeting has been scheduled as follows:

For security reasons, visitors will be escorted for the duration of the information meeting. Depending on the number of individuals that attend, attendees may be split up into smaller groups to facilitate the actual visit. Please note there is very little visitor parking at the facility. Additional street parking is available on 142 st which is approximately a five-minute walk to the facility.

It is possible that some questions raised, and information provided during the Information Meeting may be the only source of critical information essential to prepare and submit a successful Quotation. Contractors are responsible to ensure they are fully informed and have a clear understanding of the requirements.

Contractors are to examine the site prior to submitting a Quotation to fully acquaint themselves with all existing conditions reasonably inferable from examination of the site and its surroundings and the RFQ and to make allowance for such conditions in the Quotation. By submitting a Quotation, a Contractor represents that it has examined the site fully as to all conditions, contingencies, risks and circumstances, local or otherwise, which might influence or affect the performance of the Work.

Please note: this information meeting is at a secure RCMP building, personal identification will be required before entry. In case of a large turnout, there may be two different groups able to enter at two different times. Groups will be decided on first come first serve basis or in order of sign in sheet.

ADDENDA

If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFQ, the City Representative will issue a written addendum by posting it on the BC Bid website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca and the City website at www.surrey.ca  (collectively, the “Websites”), and upon posting, any addenda will form a part of this RFQ.  It is the responsibility of Contractors to check the Websites for addenda.  The only way this RFQ may be added to, or amended in any way, is by a formal written addendum.  No other communication, whether written or oral, from any person will affect or modify the terms of this RFQ or may be relied upon by any Contractor.  By delivery of a Quotation the Contractor is deemed to have received, accepted and understood the entire RFQ, including any and all addenda.
