Addendum

Request for Quotations

PURPOSE

The City of Surrey (the “City”) invites contractors to provide a quotation on the form attached as Schedule B – Form of Quotation to Attachment 1 – Agreement (the "Quotation") for the supply of the goods (if any) and services described in Schedule A – Specifications of Goods and Scope of Services to Attachment 1 – Agreement (the "Goods and Services").

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labour, materials, supplies, and transportation necessary for the maintenance and construction or renovation of natural area trails found in forests, meadows or shrub lands. Maintenance includes the repair of tread surfaces, ‘blowing’ of leaves in the fall, maintenance of trail drainage features, and the shearing, mowing or pruning of vegetation adjacent to the trail. Construction is the installation of a new trail through a natural area such as a meadow or forest, whereas renovation is the replacement or expansion of the tread surface on an existing trail.

To complete the maintenance portion of the contract the Contractor will need a variety of equipment, including truck and trailer, preferably with dumping capability, and small loaders such as bobcats or track dumpers to do tread surface repairs. Additionally, a tractor mounted boom mower is required for a relatively small amount of the vegetation work.

For construction and renovation projects, the Contractor will require the aforementioned equipment plus at least a mini-excavator to grub out areas in preparation for new trails.

ADDENDA

If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFQ, the City’s Representative will issue a written addendum by posting it on the BC Bid Website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca (the “BC Bid Website”) and the City Website at www.surrey.ca (the “City Website”) that will form a part of this RFQ. It is the responsibility of Contractor to check the BC Bid Website and the City Website for addenda. The only way this RFQ may be added to, or amended in any way, is by a formal written addendum. No other communication, whether written or oral, from any person will affect or modify the terms of this RFQ or may be relied upon by any Contractor. By delivery of a Quotation, the Contractor is deemed to have received, accepted and understood the entire RFQ, including any and all addenda.

All inquiries related to this RFQ should be directed in writing to the contact person named above.
