About Becoming

Becoming is an artwork inspired by the experience of immigrants. Shaped like an arch, it represents both a gateway and a process of transformation. The artist, inspired by Surrey's diverse population, wanted to create something that celebrates the journey of self-discovery.

The sculpture resembles an elegant curve, symbolizing the twists and turns of life as people navigate through different cultures and lands. Made with strands of extruded, anodized aluminum, Becoming is designed to be interactive, inviting viewers to explore its path and appreciate its sinuous form.
