A-SLAM is an artist, DJ, & producer that fuses his western & South Asian roots. He made a name for himself in the world music scene, fusing hip-hop beats with Bhangra & Bollywood samples. His sound garnered him respect in the industry, with his single ‘4 U’ winning an international Hip-Hop/R&B songwriting award. His unique blend of fusion music was noticed by several Indigenous artists who wanted to do the same with their culture. This led A-SLAM to work with Sto:lo Nation artist Inez, receiving a Juno-nomination and several Western Canadian Music Awards for the project. This year, A-SLAM released his debut solo album also titled ‘4 U’, and has started performing at music festivals in Metro Vancouver.
Geof does his level best to make his drums sound like a locomotive, and Ryan plays bass, completely wrong, while both are howling almost the whole time. Blood and Guts, Heart and Soul, Rock'n'Roll. Two digital EPs and one full length vinyl LP released on Early Onset Records. The sound isn't easy to pin down, it floats between punk, hardcore and noise rock with a fierce delivery and odd song structures that are surprisingly hooky. Get ready to get sweaty.
