MYzone After School Drop-In Program offers activities for children ages 8 to 12 at select recreation facilities.

 MYzone is a fun and flexible after-school program for children 8 to 12 years old that runs from October 7, 2024 to June 13, 2025. 

Winner of the Provincial Award for Program Excellence from the BC Recreation & Parks Association, MYzone is a two hour program that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, explore, be active and build connections with their peers. Program leaders work with participants to design weekly activity plans.

Children have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in active play and recreation
  • Receive help with homework
  • Create art
  • Enjoy a light snack
  • Explore various interests
  • Develop leadership skill and build a sense of belonging to their community
  • Enhance social-emotional skills and make new friends! 

 

Membership fees

Purchase of a separate membership for each MYzone or MYgame location is no longer required.

MY Fun Pass

$115.75 from September 3 to June 30 (price is prorated throughout the school year.) MY Fun Pass provides unlimited access to all drop-in programs available to children ages 2-12 during the school year including swimming, skating, gym drop-in, MYzone and MYgame.

Important details

  • MYzone does not operate on statutory holidays, Surrey School Pro-D days and school closures.
  • We ask that a parent/guardian accompany their child(ren) during their first visit to the program to review program policies, guidelines and code of conduct.
  • Participants are able to sign themselves in and sign themselves out of the program. As we do not implement controlled release, participants will be permitted to leave MYzone unattended at any time during the program hours.

Cooking lessons and snacks are now provided at MYzone

Participants will enjoy light snacks and participate in weekly cooking lessons due to a generous grant from UBC’s University- Engagement Support Fund in Partnership with LIVE 5210. Please inform staff if your child has any life-threatening medical conditions or allergies.  As we do not collect medical information for this program, it is important that your child is also aware of his/her allergies or medical condition and can recognize symptoms. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to update their child’s medical information in their MYSurrey profile.
