Pay Transparency Report

The City of Surrey is dedicated to building a thriving, green, inclusive city, while delivering meaningful and rewarding career opportunities for our employees.

We have over 4500 employees, 53.7% women and 46.3% men, who play a pivotal role in ensuring that Surrey is a place where everyone can live, work and play. Their work spans a wide range of disciplines, touching on all areas of city operations that directly impact the lives of more than 560,000 residents who call Surrey home.

At the City of Surrey, individuals earn the same rate of pay for doing the same job; however, we recognize that the gender pay gap is about more than just pay rates and we are committed to fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace. As part of our commitment and as required in accordance with the provisions of B.C.’s Pay Transparency Act, we will be reporting annually on pay transparency as part of an effort to close the gender pay gap and address systemic discrimination.

Our Pay Transparency reports will help us set a baseline and track our progress towards closing the gender pay gap.
