About Emerging Butterfly and Spring Flowers

The butterfly serves as a symbol of metamorphosis or change. In this project, the surrounding environment is in a constant state of flux. The butterfly paired with the flower symbolizes sustenance and life. Both symbols convey the essence of beauty and encourage us to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day.

About the Artist

Natache Gabriel is an artist from Kwantlen First Nation with ancestral ties to Kwantlen or q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓, Chehalis or Sts'ailes, and Shackan or Scw'exmx, as well as Sto:lo territory. Natache resides in Fort Langley with her partner Taylor and their four children, drawing inspiration from the natural environment that surrounds her and her children. She has contributed to public artworks in the township of Langley and the City of Surrey. With a commitment to continuous growth and improvement, she aspires to evolve in all aspects of her artistic endeavors.
