Translation – Explanation and Caution

The electronic translation service on the City of Surrey’s web site is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation may vary in some of the languages offered by Google. The goal of the basic translation is to capture the general intention of the original English material.

Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages. Unfortunately, not all the languages spoken in the City of Surrey are translated. Punjabi is one of the languages not currently offered, and to remedy the situation, the City has been in contact with Google and they have committed to making Punjabi available in the future.

The City of Surrey cannot guarantee the quality, accuracy, or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the City encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and the decisions you make.

The City of Surrey offers interpretation services at all its facilities. If you have a question about the material you read on our web site, we encourage you to stop by a City facilities to discuss it. You can also contact the City at (604) 591-4011 to receive interpretation support.

Scope of Services
The Contractor will be expected to provide all labour, materials and equipment necessary to pick-up refuse from City owned containers [45 gal barrels], located at various City park sites, and load into Contractor’s refuse hauling vehicle for subsequent disposal at Contractor’s disposal facility. Garbage that has been placed adjacent to the cans and any garbage within 3 metres of the can must also be collected and removed. Contractor is responsible for servicing cans regardless of weight or content.

The Contractor is responsible for servicing approximately 600 cans located in parks throughout the City of Surrey. Each can will be serviced between 129 and 250 times per year, depending on service level of the park.

The City encourages sustainable practices in the delivery of services. Sustainable practices will be considered as part of the evaluation process.

The lack and/or omission of any detailed specifications does not minimize acceptable levels of service and only the best commercial practices are acceptable

Addenda
If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFEOI/SOQ, the City Representative will post a written addendum on the City Website that will form part of this RFEOI/SOQ. No amendment of any kind to the RFEOI/SOQ is effective unless it is posted in a formal written addendum on the City Website. Upon submitting a Submission, Respondents will be deemed to have received notice of all addenda that are posted on the City Website.
