Environmental Extravaganza
Explore nature each spring with a wide range of free programs and events!
Surrey’s Environmental Extravaganza is a long-running series of free environmental programs that run from April to June each year, hosted in collaboration with our community partners.
Program highlights
Thank you to everyone who joined us to explore nature this past spring. With over 130 programs and events to choose from, Surrey residents learned how to fish and identify native plants; explored parks, trails and gardens; discovered owls and other birds; and celebrated bees and other pollinators.
Here are some highlights from spring 2024.
Discover how you can connect with nature all year-round.

Our community partners
The Environmental Extravaganza wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of our community partners. They work hard to bring this fun and informative series to you each year. Thank you! Learn about the incredible work they do in our community.
Surrey is situated on the unceded traditional and ancestral lands of the Salish Peoples, including the Katzie, Kwantlen and Semiahmoo Nations. We recognize them as stewards of this land since time immemorial—they walked these lands first and continue to care for them today.
In hosting the Environmental Extravaganza, we are honoured to be able to offer a variety of opportunities for people to care for and connect with these special places. We acknowledge our responsibility to further our work in reconciliation and hope you will continue to learn alongside us.
