Translation – Explanation and Caution

The electronic translation service on the City of Surrey’s web site is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation may vary in some of the languages offered by Google. The goal of the basic translation is to capture the general intention of the original English material.

Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages. Unfortunately, not all the languages spoken in the City of Surrey are translated. Punjabi is one of the languages not currently offered, and to remedy the situation, the City has been in contact with Google and they have committed to making Punjabi available in the future.

The City of Surrey cannot guarantee the quality, accuracy, or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the City encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and the decisions you make.

The City of Surrey offers interpretation services at all its facilities. If you have a question about the material you read on our web site, we encourage you to stop by a City facilities to discuss it. You can also contact the City at (604) 591-4011 to receive interpretation support.

Swimming Lessons

Parent & Tot (6-36 months)

Introduce your child to the wonders of water through a fun and interactive lesson experience. Join one of our experience instructors for games, water activities and an introduction to swimming skills. Parent participation in the water is required.

Preschool (3-5yrs)

This 7 level program is designed to promote success, focusing on parent involvement and water safety. It has an exciting and attractive format with fun characters and activities geared towards those 3-5 years old. Once your little one turns 6, they will move seamlessly into the Swim Kids program.

Red Cross Swim Kids (6-12 yrs)

This 10 level program focuses on stroke development, water safety and includes a fitness component. With our Quadrant program, your kids will be challenged to their individual level and learning style.

Adults

Our lessons are for beginners and experienced swimmers. We adapt the program to suit all participants. We also offer women only lessons.

Lifeguarding & First Aid

We have a full range of lifesaving, life guarding, instructional and first aid courses. Leadership classes through the Red Cross and the Life Saving Society are run in conjunction with LIT Aquatics (www.litaquatics.com ).
