Museum Offsite School Programs
Programs Continue Throughout Museum Closure
While the Museum is currently closed for expansion, curriculum current school programs will continue to be offered offsite. To ensure teacher needs are met, Education staff have written new mobile school programs which are being offered in two ways:
- Offsite Delivery of Programs
- Teacher Delivered Edukits
Offsite Delivery of Programs
Delivered by Museum staff in the classroom, we come to you with authentic artifacts and museum quality reproductions. When we leave, teachers are provided with teachers' notes with a resource listing and pre/post program activities with project ideas, online and print resources and a recommended reading/video listing.
- Archaeology of Ancient Cultures (Grade 7)
- Homestead to High-rise (K to 2)
- Simple Machines (Grade 5)
- Métis: The Flower Beadwork People (Grades 3 to 4)
Teacher Delivered Edukits
Created by Museum Education staff for delivery by teachers, edukits contain hands on artifacts and archival materials, including photographs, newspaper articles, letters and more. Packaged in a convenient suitcase, they are available on three week loan.
