Parks, Recreation & Culture Projects
In addition to the recent completion of the Guildford & Grandview Pools, the City has committed to building a number of new PRC facilities. These highlighted projects have been approved and will be delivered in the near future.
Please keep these already-planned amenities in mind when providing your feedback for the new PRC Strategic Plan
North Surrey Ice Arena Replacement – New Facility
A new destination three ice sheet arena complex in North Surrey, located in Bridgeview, to replace the aging two ice sheet North Surrey Arena in City Centre.
Cloverdale Ice Arena – New Facility
A new two ice sheet arena complex at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. This new complex will supplement the existing ice arena.
Clayton Community Hub – New Facility
A new facility in Clayton Heights which will provide dedicated arts, library, recreation and outdoor space, integrated into a combined community facility.
Surrey Museum – Facility Expansion
A new learning and discovery campus featuring a large exhibition gallery, children’s gallery, program rooms and workshop, and outdoor spaces for community gatherings and events.
Newton Recreation Centre – Facility Renovation & Expansion
This addition will include a new and expanded fitness space, exercise rooms, exterior renovations and an outdoor play area.
Cloverdale Athletic Park – Athletics Expansion
An existing grass field will be converted into an artificial turf year-round sport field, and a new field house and washroom building will be added.
Newton Athletic Park – Athletics Expansion
Two natural grass areas will be converted to artificial turf field practice fields to complement the Park’s existing soccer fields and amenities.
Glades Garden Park – Park Expansion
Expansion will include a new garden building, garden expansion, washrooms, event space, parking lot, and a formal park entrance.
Bose Forest Park – New Park
A new community park in West Cloverdale featuring a large and diverse natural area with forest pathways, viewpoints, seating areas and a nature playground.
City Centre Art Space (10660 City Parkway)
An existing building is being revitalized into flexible art space which will be home to Streetrich Hip Hop Society and the Royal Canadian Theatre Company.
