Park background
Hjorth Road Park was named after historic Hjorth Road (now 104 Avenue), which took its name from Hans Christian Hjorth, a Norwegian fishermen who settled in the area in 1885. The land for the first portions of the park was acquired by the City in 1980, but the majority of the park was not established until the late 80s.
