About Tom Binnie Park
Tom Binnie Park is home to the Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre, an official venue site for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Following the Games, the Chuck Bailey was redeveloped into a community centre, which has a gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, and seniors facilities, and the Chuck Bailey Youth Centre, which provides a range of youth oriented programming and amenities. The youth lounge opens up onto the skate park that is adjacent to the recreation centre.
Wander by at night and check out the Surrey Urban Screen on the western wall of the recreation centre.
To the south of the recreation centre you'll find a skatepark which features a magic carpet ride, volcano, wall gap and the first use of skateable bedrock in the City. The park also features a fully covered bowl for all weather use.
Adjacent to the skatepark you'll find a basketball court, playground and a full sized ball hockey court that can double for lacrosse or bike polo.
Further to the south of the basketball court you'll find the BC Lions training facility. Check it out in the summer time, and if you're lucky you might be able to get your Lions jersey signed.
