Ocean Park Community Orchard

Looking north on the orchard

The Ocean Park Community Orchard is the result of a proposal put forward by members of the Surrey/White Rock Food Action Coalition, the Ocean Park Community Association, the Ocean Park Neighbours as well as other local residents with interest in community food growing. The project consists of a small grove of fruit trees,a walking path and flower beds with bulb and shrub plantings.

Background

The Ocean Park Community Orchard is bringing neighbours together to plan, plant, nurture and harvest fruits for our community. The orchard is supported by local community members in partnership with community groups and the City.

Community gardens and orchards are supported by Surrey's Sustainability Charter for their contributions to sustainable local food production and food security. In addition, they offer a wide range of benefits to a neighbourhood, such as creating inclusive and hospitable gathering spaces, and providing residents with opportunities to learn, connect, grow, share and contribute to the betterment of their community.
