About Oak Meadows Park
Oak Meadows Park is now under construction, and nearing completion. The park will open when construction of the adjacent roads is completed. There will be a formal park opening celebration in Spring 2017.
Oak Meadows Park was designed following a community engagement process, including site surveys and an environmental assessment, online CitySpeaks surveys and an open house. Through this process we received lots of comments and feedback. A big thanks to the 108 participants who were involved and helped us with the design. The park concept plan was approved by Council in July, 2015.
Oak Meadows Park is a new park located in the Sunnyside Heights neighbourhood of South Surrey. The park was acquired by the City during the development of the surrounding neighbourhood. The park measures an area of 1.7 hectares (4.2 acres) and is a mixture of open meadow, forest and wetland. The City is developing the site as a neighbourhood park, with an enhanced natural area and passive park amenities including pathways, viewpoints and seating areas.
