Lights Out, Energy In! campaign
November 1-30
The City of Surrey is participating in an energy savings campaign across several of our recreation centres. This initiative aims to reduce energy use by ensuring lights are turned off in unused spaces, particularly in gyms and multipurpose rooms.
Switching off lights when they’re not needed is one of the easiest yet most impactful ways to conserve energy. By participating in this challenge, the City is helping to minimize it’s environmental footprint, promote energy-saving habits amongst staff, and encourage others to do the same!

Climate Change Action Strategy
The Climate Change Action Strategy outlines the City’s plan for reducing GHG emissions to meet 2030 and 2050 targets, and adapting to climate change impacts, while achieving co-benefits for resilience, health, equity and prosperity.
Sustainability Charter
Sustainability and energy efficiency are key priorities for the City of Surrey. Our actions in these areas are guided by our Sustainability Charter, an overarching policy document that guides us in maintaining a sustainable community.
Surrey City Energy
We are building a renewable energy future with district energy. This City-owned district energy system supplies high-density residential, commercial, and institutional buildings in City Centre with heat and hot water.
