Bridgeview Drive Widening - Phase 2 Road Widening and Construction

In order to improve safety, and multimodal transportation, the City is proposing to widen Bridgeview Drive to a City standard four lane cross section.

Project location

Project Timeline

The work is being divided into two phases:

  • Phase 1 (September 2016 – December 2016): Preload and drainage works. This phase will involve upsizing the storm sewer on 128 Street between 111 Avenue and King George Boulevard and placing preload (sand and gravel) along the edges of the existing road between 111 Avenue and Highway 17.
  • Phase 2 (February 2017 – December 2017): Road widening and reconstruction. Phase 2 involves widening 128 Street and Bridgeview Drive between 111 Avenue and Highway 17 to a City standard four lane cross section (two lanes each direction) as well as reconstructing the two existing lanes. Work will also include construction of curb and gutter, sidewalks, cycle tracks, street lights and raised concrete medians, as well as restricting left turn movements at several intersections and existing driveways.

Public Consultation

A Public Information Meeting was held on Wednesday October 19, 2016 to provide residents and business owners with an opportunity to discuss the project with City staff and view presentation boards which depict the proposed works.

The display boards which were presented can be viewed here.
