  • Surrey receives water from 6 Metro Vancouver reservoirs and a number of direct connections from Metro Vancouver transmission mains;  
  • We provide drinking water to 90,000 properties and over 502,000 residents through 1800 kilometre water main network, 9 pump stations, 51 sampling stations, and 150 pressure reducing stations;
  • 62,000 residents and businesses use a water meter;
  • In winter, the average daily consumption is 160,000 m3, or equivalent to the volume of 300 Newton wave pools. In the summer, the demand for water is about 50% more than the winter usage. This is primarily due to lawn sprinkling. The average yearly amount fills BC Place Stadium 24 times!
  • We supply water to 9400 fire hydrants for fire protection.
