Setting Out Your Carts
Properly Set Out Your Carts on Collection Day
Set Out Time
Place your carts at your designated collection spot by 7:30am on collection day, or no earlier than one-day prior. Waste service vehicles will not return to a household that has their carts placed out late.
Ensure at least 1 meter (3 feet) of space around each cart, 3 meters (10 feet) of clearance above the cart, and 1.5m (5ft) from parked vehicles. Please remove or cut back any hedges or branches to provide clearance for our collection crews. Wherever possible, place carts on opposite sides of your driveway.
Never place carts closer than 1 meter (3 feet) to any object (light pole, fence, car, hydrant, tree, or other carts).
If your cart is blocked or does not have the required spacing, your cart may not be serviced.
Place your cart so that it opens toward the street - the arrow on the lid should point toward the centre of the lane or street (the handle will be facing your property). The wheels should be against the edge of the curb.
Remove empty carts from curbside after they have been serviced and store them on your property.
Our waste collection hauler works until 7:30 pm so please leave your carts out until then if they have not yet been serviced.
If your carts were missed, contact the Waste Collection Hotline at 604-590-7289 the next business day. Failure to report a missed collection within this time may result in your missed carts not being collected.
