Land Development Process
On September 12, 2016, City of Surrey Council adopted a new Sensitive Ecosystem Development Permit Area and corresponding Streamside Protection measures. Check if these apply to you before submitting your development application.
Area Planning Process Overview
You must obtain proper approval from the City of Surrey if you want to develop or change the use of land in Surrey.
Board of Variance
Separate from the development application process, you may apply to the Board of Variance for a minor variance from the Zoning By-law. A minor variance may be permitted relating to siting, size or dimensions of buildings where it is determined compliance with the by-law would cause an undue hardship.
