Provincial and Regional Highways

Pioneer Overpass at Highway 99

Provincial and regional highways primarily serve regional and longer-distance traffic. These highways play an important role in the overall transportation network for the region.

Provincial highways

The operation and maintenance of provincial highways, including interchanges and intersections with City roads, fall under the jurisdiction of the provincial Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

Capital construction is funded by the Province, with the City paying for urban features such as sidewalks, curbs, streetlights, and ditch infill. Surrey also provides cost-sharing for portions of highway interchanges and overpasses.

The provincial highways located in Surrey are:

  • Highway 1 (Trans-Canada Highway)
  • Highway 10
  • Highway 15 (Pacific Highway)
  • Highway 17 (See the South Fraser Perimeter Road Project)
  • Highway 99
  • 8 Avenue between King George Boulevard and Highway 15

Regional highways

The operation, maintenance, and capital construction of regional highways, including interchanges and intersections with City roads, fall under the jurisdiction of TransLink.

The regional highways located in Surrey are:

  • Golden Ears Way
  • Pattullo Bridge
