Historical Buildings Records Search
You can now find the Age of Building service under its new name, as Building Permit Issuance Date.
Request a historical buildings search online or in person.
There is a non-refundable search fee for all historical building records searches. This includes research for the building permit issuance date, square footage of a building, final occupancy date or copy of survey certificate.
Requests for records
You can now request a Historical Building Records Search in 2 ways:
1. Complete our online form and proceed to a secure checkout using either VISA, MasterCard or American Express
2. Visit us in Person, at the Building Counter at City Hall. Here, you can pay by cash, credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) or debit.

Delivery methods
It will take, on average, up to 1 business day for City of Surrey staff to research and deliver any information found. You can choose to receive the information through 1 of the following delivery methods:
• eMail;
• facsimile;
• regular mail, or
• pick up from the Planning and Development Department reception desk at City Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
