Surrey Libraries

Department Overview

Surrey Libraries is a community leader in supporting creativity, connectivity, literacy and life-long learning. The department oversees nine libraries in Surrey and manages digital services available through its website.

Department Structure

Surrey Public Library is an organization separately incorporated under the Provincial Library Act. It is governed by the Surrey Public Library Board, which consists of one Council designate and residents appointed by the City of Surrey Council.

The Library Board appoints the Chief Librarian, who directs and oversees the operation of the Library and ensures the delivery of excellent customer services including computer access, assistance with technology and information, physical and online collections, and programs to people of all ages and cultures.

The Chief Librarian is a member of the City of Surrey Senior Management team, which provides the majority of the funding to the Library. Surrey Libraries is also a registered charity. Through generous donations, Surrey Libraries funds programs and services meeting the unique needs of our community. See their donations page for more information.

The Library Administration Office is located on the third floor of the City Centre Library at 10350 University Drive.
