Legislative Services

 

Our responsibilities:

  • provide political administration of the City
  • arrange for election preparation for local government officials
  • prepare and distribute Council meeting agendas
  • record and preserve minutes of Council meetings and those of Council committees
  • preserve and complete all municipal by-laws and make copies available to the public
  • administer oaths and take and receive affidavits and affirmations pertaining to City business
  • keep custody of the City Seal
  • ensure safekeeping of municipal documents
  • signing authority for City documents
  • manage Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act compliance and requests
  • handle and disperse all corporate mail
  • corporate records management
  • printing and copying
  • records resource centre

New Council Members elected in the 2014 election were sworn in on December 28, 2014.  This Council will be in office for a four (4) year term.
