JUNO Nominee Scott Helman to Headline 2016 Party for the Planet

The City of Surrey announced today Scott Helman, 2016 JUNO nominee for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year, will headline this year’s Party for the Planet event—BC’s largest Earth Day celebration—taking place April 23 at City Hall Plaza.
The popular "Machine" and "Bungalow" singer will be joined by a diverse lineup of talent including singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer Vince Vaccaro; family entertainers Bobs & LoLo; Music with Marnie; Franklin the Turtle and, new for 2016, "Science Surprise Show" by Science World on the Road.
"Party for the Planet is a chance to celebrate our community’s commitment to the environment and dedication to building a sustainable future," said Mayor Linda Hepner. "We’re thrilled to welcome an extraordinary lineup of performers to this exciting free community event."
Presented by TD, the family friendly celebration is expected to draw more than 20,000 attendees. City groups and sponsors will be on hand with numerous environmental themed activities and craft stations.
