Storm Cleanup

August 31, 2015

City crews have been performing extensive cleanup work since the arrival of the windstorm on Saturday and have made significant progress in clearing debris from the roads. We appreciate your patience during this period. With heavy rain still in the forecast, residents can help out by clearing leaves from any storm drains and catch basins near their property.

Due to power outages around the city, many City of Surrey services have been affected, including our Service Request Call Centre. You may encounter a longer than normal call wait time, due to this issue.

We encourage you to submit all service requests online, through Report a Problem or your Surrey Request App. We appreciate your patience as we work to get the power restored.

Surrey began experiencing extreme and unexpected winds on August 29, 2015 at approximately 10:30am. The City of Surrey Fire Department, City Works crews, BC Hydro and other agencies are working to ensure public safety and to minimize the impact of the storm.
